Book Cover Design and interior layout
This cover design for a recipe book presents a collection of wholesome, fun recipes for the whole family, presented in a seasonal format by local chef Jenny Breen and writer Susan Thurston. I was commissioned to design an appetizing cover, as well as the interior text pages on a limited budget. The resulting cookbook has been featured in local food cooperatives and book stores to great success.

For two years running, I worked together with the Wilder Foundation to produce their Heritage Report. This planned giving report honored existing donors while attracting new ones. Key words and photographs emphasize the organization’s purpose rather than names and numbers, and large quotes lead readers to consider why they should donate to Wilder. Through creative use of color on press we were able to maximize visual appeal for minimal cost.
Initial feedback? One longtime donor read the report for the first time ever, and prospects looked it over cover to cover. In addition to being thrilled about the new look, this made for one happy client.

The mission of Rice Creek Watershed District is to conserve and restore Minnesota’s water resources for current and future generations. With the launch of their Blue Thumb program, they needed a way to communicate with consumers about how to conserve water resources by landscaping with native plants.
We worked together to develop a complete brand image with a new name and logo, graphic standards manual, web site, point of purchase brochure and signage that appealed to environmentally conscious gardeners, retailers and non profit partners.
